Hadi Asghari is a PhD candidate at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. His current research focuses on the Economics of Information Security. Hadi has an MSc in Management of Technology (Cum Laude) and a BSc in Software Engineering. Prior to moving to the Netherlands Hadi worked for several years as a software engineer and ICT consultant in Iran. He cofounded a startup and collaborated with Iran's Ministry of Education and the largest Internet Service Provider in the country, Shatel, among others. Hadi received the IBM MoT thesis award and the UFonds Best Graduate Student award in 2010 for the work done during his Master studies at TU Delft. His thesis work on "the role of ISPs in Botnet Mitigation" forms the basis of a recent report published by the OECD with the same title.
