Behzad Behdani received his BSc in Chemical engineering and the M.Sc. degree in Energy Systems Engineering from Sharif University of Technology (SUT), Iran in 2006. His M.Sc. studies were focused on optimization theories and their application in process management (especially batch and continuous process planning and scheduling).

He was working as a researcher in several research institutes and consultancy companies (mainly focused on energy and environmental research projects) before joining the energy and Industry group of the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management of Delft University of Technology as a PhD researcher in 2008. His main research focus is on abnormal situation management in industrial networks and supply chains.
