Ir. Jan Willem van der Pas is a PhD researcher at the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management departments of Transport Policy and Logistics Organization and the department of Policy Analysis. His background is in Technology and Innovation Policy and Electrical Engineering. His current PhD research focuses on dealing with uncertainties in public policymaking for the implementation of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and more specific Intelligent Speed Adaptation (ISA). His Masters Thesis involved identification of interesting future business opportunities for Siemens Netherlands based upon (Energy supply department). After his Masters thesis he was employed by the University of Maastricht where he worked as a researcher on a research project for the Dutch Ministry of Internal Affairs. The research involved inventory and assessment of existing future studies analysing the implications for the Dutch Ministry of Internal Affairs. In April 2005 he started working as a PhD researcher at the TU Delft.
