Can we build an off-grid city with no malls? Would a grid pattern work for roads? Where do we place the waste treatment facility? Should we have a nuclear plant in the middle of the city? These are questions that participants who played the City Game grappled with at the Imagining Infrastructures workshop organised by Next Generation Infrastructure Laboratory (NGIL), a division of CSTEP in Bangalore on July 7-8.

Prof. Eswaran Subrahmanian explaining the philosophy and approach of the Next Generation Infrastructure Laboratory.
The participants are playing diverse serious Games developped by Dr. Juval Portugali, of Tel Aviv University or the NGIL.
