Project 2: Flexibility in Port Development and Management
The goal of the project is to introduce flexibility in port development and management. Ports are complex infrastructures with a technical and economical lifespan that outstretches the timeframe of current economical, social and political developments. The institutional and organisational structure of ports must be able to adapt to the changing environment in the mid to long term.
Based on four cases related to MVII we develop solutions for ports to become more adaptive in their planning and management:
1. Restructuring petro chemical complex
2. Common user rail terminal
3. Inland terminal network
4. Tendering en concessions for container terminals
